WILDFIRESKATES
Welcome to Wildfire skates, an initiative we’re excited to launch with the generous sponsorship of The Assist Project, a nonprofit supporting our cause. Together, we're committed to providing skateboards to the LA community—helping those who lost their boards in the fires and supporting lower-income skaters through your kind donations. Skating is more than just a hobby; it’s a lifeline. It offers an escape, a way to process emotions, and a path to resilience. In the face of loss and hardship, a skateboard can be a source of stability and self-expression. By coming together to give back, we’re not just providing skateboards—we’re helping people regain a sense of purpose, community, and hope.
What we are providing
Skateboard decks, including grip tape, are essential parts of a fully built skateboard.
Trucks and wheels are other critical components of a fully built skateboard.
To build fully functional skateboards, decks, grip tape, trucks, wheels, and hardware will be used—all provided through donations.
Who
we are
Based in Marin County, just across the Golden Gate, I’m a junior in high school with a deep passion for skateboarding — it has truly shaped who I am. When I heard about the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, I knew I had to do something to help. That’s why I’m raising funds to provide complete skateboards — decks, trucks, and wheels — to youth who’ve lost their homes and boards, as well as to support lower-income skaters in the LA community.
To make this happen, I’m incredibly proud to share that The Assist Project, a nonprofit committed to uplifting underserved youth, is sponsoring our movement. I’ll also be partnering with Altadena Boys, another inspiring nonprofit that works to help young people recover and regain stability after life-changing events. They’re helping us identify the youth who need support most, and on June 21st, they’ll be hosting our giveaway event in Los Angeles, where we’ll personally hand out skateboards to those in need.
I’ll be purchasing high-quality skateboard parts in bulk from Atlas Skateboarding and Deluxe Distribution — two respected companies who have generously offered wholesale pricing to help us stretch every dollar and get more boards into more hands.
This mission is personal. Skateboarding is more than a sport — it’s freedom, resilience, and belonging. It’s helped me through some of the hardest moments in my life and shown me the power of community, creativity, and movement. I know what skating can do for someone in need of hope — and right now, a lot of kids need that outlet more than ever.
We’ll be documenting everything on Instagram at @WildFireSkates — from building the boards to the big day. Follow along, share our story, and help us spread the word.
All funds raised will go directly to purchasing skateboards. Whether you can donate $5 or $50, your support helps us give a young skater not just a board — but a chance to heal, grow, and ride again.
